Coming to Chippewa Falls

"We couldn't be more excited to bring this museum to the Chippewa Falls region." said David Daniels, Executive Director of Colossal Fossils Inc. "This is going to provide the families and schools of Western Wisconsin an amazing opportunity to learn about natural history, including a lot that can be found within our own state!"

Colossal Fossils Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit organization recently announced that, on May 11-12, 2018, they will be teaming up with the Chippewa Falls Museum of Industry & Technology to bring their collection of dinosaurs to Chippewa Falls, WI.  This family-friendly event is designed to immerse a child and his or her family in a science experience that they will never forget.  Learn about dinosaurs, Ice Age mammals, and Wisconsin history.

The event is a fundraising opportunity for the local museum that not only will help give the Museum of Industry & Technology a means of raising additional funds for their own use, but to also increase their outreach and provide an extremely unique set of exhibits that doesn't exist in that part of the state.

"In general, most people within the state of Wisconsin have to drive at least two hours to find a good dinosaur museum," says Daniels. "But at Colossal Fossils, we bring the museum directly to these smaller communities.  It saves people a lot of time."

So what can you expect to see at Dinosaur Days?

"When you come, you are going to get a hands-on tour that highlights many of the large items that we will be bringing to Chippewa Falls," says Daniels. "You are going to stand face-to-face with a massive saber-tooth cat named Esther, you'll see dinosaur bones, learn about Tyrannosaurus rex, touch 500 million year old jellyfish fossils from Central Wisconsin, take part in a trivia challenge with prizes for the winners, be on the lookout for some really fun giveaways and, best of all, give your family an opportunity to learn together.  This is a place where you can put the cellphone down and have fun.  You will never find another dinosaur museum that lets you touch so many of the fossils and fossil replicas."
